Bamboo toothbrush – The idea was born to toothbrush thus from a thrice problems; the need to reduce plastic use, because of buying new toothbrush when the old one is worn, and the bamboo toothbrushes on the market are not within the scope of what people are willing to pay. Based on these premises created toothbrush, this is basically a subscription service, so that the user gets home a new toothbrush the first day or every other month.
The human nature is an inherent skepticism towards all that is new and unconventional, and this is my biggest challenge. The combination of a bamboo toothbrush, relatively unexplored materials, and subscriptions, this tarnished and negatively charged words, meant a sharp uphill battle from day one. The clear sustainability mindset that permeates toothbrush, from factory to consumer, have added further insult to injury, mainly in the form of finding material suitable for transport and packaging, but not plastic.
Six months after launch, bamboo toothbrush about 150 subscribers, but this part is still only a fraction of the total number of brushes that we sell. Even less is our share of the overall toothbrush market, which is vanishingly small. Founded on the belief that small contributions can make big differences we want to change plastic brush undeserved domination in the bathroom; brush, brush, day after day. So the next time you come home from the store and forgot to buy a new toothbrush, curse thee not, but see it instead as an opportunity to start brushing with bamboo.
